Mr. Roosevelt Ryant, Sr., son of the late Mr. Wash Ryant Sr. and Mrs. Frances Holman Ryant, was born on January 19, 1940, in Cope, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
Roosevelt began his professional career at Goodyear Tire as a tire technician. He later worked many dedicated years at Edisto High School as a custodian until his retirement. Following retirement, Roosevelt pursued his lifelong passion as a lawn mower mechanic, a role he lovingly fulfilled until his passing.
Roosevelt was a quiet, humble, and kind man. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wash Ryant Jr.; his daughter, Rosemary Grant; and his son, Rodney Ryant.
Roosevelt leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted family, including six sons, Daniel (Teal) Ryant, Roosevelt Ryant, Jr., Dasmen Owens, Dwight Owens, Steve Frazier, and George Frazier, all of Orangeburg, SC; one daughter, Stephanie Owens, of Orangeburg, South Carolina; five brothers, James Ryant, Herman Ryant, Harold Ryant, Clarence Ryant, and Edward (Pandora) Ryant; two sisters, Sallie (Jimmie) Davis and Cynthia Ryant; an abundance of other loving relatives; and a loyal friend, Mr. Charlie Green, who will miss him deeply.
