Mr. Herman Shuler Obituary

Mr. Herman Shuler, son of the late Mr. Willie Shuler Jr. and Mrs. Louise Tyler Shuler, was born on August 22, 1958, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Mr. Shuler departed this life on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Medical University of South Carolina-Orangeburg.

Mr. Herman Shuler was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg, South Carolina.

A jack of all trades, with a very talented and creative mind, Mr. Shuler was a professional tree trimmer and mechanic.

In his free time, you could find him sharing fond memories of the good old days with his family and friends, reminiscing on all of the great times they shared together.  Most of all, he loved his family and fishing! He also cherished and enjoyed times spent going to church and fellowshipping with his church members, until his health declined.

Mr. Shuler was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Bell Pinckney Shuler; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Louise Shuler; three brothers, Mr. McArthur Shuler, Mr. Eugene Shuler, and Mr. Perry Shuler; one son, Mr. Herman Leonard Shuler; and one grandson, Mr. Clarence Sumpter.

Left to cherish precious memories of Mr. Herman Shuler are one loving daughter, Ms. Wanda Cleckley, of Orangeburg, SC, and two stepsons, whom he reared in the home and loved as his own, Mr. Harry Jermaine Pinckney, of California and Matthew (Felicia) Pinckney, of Orangeburg, SC; three grandchildren, Yasmine Spinks, Tatyanna Spinks, and TyQuarius Sumpter, all of Orangeburg, SC; 2 great-grandchildren, Nyla Sumpter and Sy’aire Sumpter; four sisters, Mrs. Willie Bee (Norman) James, of Norway, SC,  Mrs. Hattie (Richard) Rivers and Mrs.  Elizabeth (Harry) Greene, both of Cope, SC, and Mrs. Ruth (Robert) Pinckney, of Orangeburg, SC; four sisters-in-law, Ms. Mary L. Maple, Ms. Annie Mae Williams, Ms. Dorothy Pinckney, and Ms. Victoria Pinckney; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Robert Pinckney and Mr. James Pinckney; one uncle, Mr. Curlee (Delois) Govan; special neighbors and friends, Ms. Ethel Pough and Ms. Anna Thompson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
