It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Charles William Kirkland.
A graveside service for the life of Charles William Kirkland, 71, will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Bamberg Memory Gardens in Bamberg, 14836 Heritage Hwy, Bamberg, SC 29003 at 1:30 PM. He was born in Orangeburg, SC on August 31, 1954, and was the son of the late Eloise Preetorius Kirkland and Norman Kirkland of Bamberg. SC.
Charles was a 1972 graduate of Jefferson Davis Academy and attended Clemson University. He was a loyal friend with a special compassion for the elderly, always offering his help whenever the opportunity arose. He loved dogs and sports and became especially knowledgeable in both. An avid Clemson Tiger fan, Charles truly knew ‘all things Clemson.’
Charles was predeceased in death by his parents and his twin sister, Carole Preetorius Kirkland. He is survived by his sister, Norma Kirkland (John Farley) of Columbia, SC; his niece, Georgia Preetorius Kirkland of Savannah, GA; his sister, Margaret Worsham of Clemson; and his nephew, Russ Kirkland of Maryland.
Services are being handled by Shawn Landy of Dignity Morturary and Heather Leigh, Officiant.
