Luvidina “Luby” Madero

On Thursday, February 16, 2023,  our beloved mother Luby joined her parents and her brother Hector in Heaven. She leaves behind her four children, Paul (Robin), Kim (David), Philip, and Selene (John); five grandchildren, Jessica, Shane, Ciara, Kristine (Michael), and Michael; three great-grandchildren, Alycea, Ahna, and Sebastian; her brother, William; and many extended family members and friends.

Luby demonstrated the importance of education and hard work to her children by earning a master’s degree in social work while working full-time and raising her family. She spent the bulk of her career directing home care programs throughout New York City. 

Luby loved dancing, playing bingo and cards, and taking care of her plants. One of her favorite past times was enhancing recipes and making them her own.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and entertained us all with her quick wit and out-of-left-field zingers. Her quirky sense of humor will be sorely missed.   

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 27 at St. Mary Gate of Heaven Church in Ozone Park, NY.  Interment will take place immediately after the funeral service at St Michael’s Cemetery in East Elmhurst, NY.
