John Allen Brown

Mr. John Allen Brown was born on February 24, 1953, in Columbia, South Carolina. He is the late son of John Allen and Leola Rivers Brown. John Brown departed his life at his home in Richland County on August 4, 2024.

John attended schooling in Hopkins, South Carolina.  He was employed with Westinghouse Nuclear Plant for over 30 years. After retiring, he later went to Wal-Mart.

John enjoyed fishing, fixing cars, watching Western movies, and cooking on the grill.

John was a devoted and loving husband, father, stepfather, son, brother-in-law, and friend to all who will miss him dearly.  His joyous spirit will forever be with us.

Preceding his death are his parents, and two brothers, David L. Davis and Willie J. Brown; and two sisters, Johnnie Mae Brown (twin sister), and Carrie M Brown.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his wife, Jennifer Brown, of Orangeburg SC; two loving daughters, Viola, and Shirley Goodwin; two stepdaughters, Tiffany Haynes, and Shanice Thomas; two sons, John Brown, Jr., and Cedric Brown; and one stepson, Christopher Haynes;  five sisters, Mary B. Edmond, Betty, Victoria, Patrica Brown, all of Columbia, SC, and Mary D. Parker (Jeffrey), of Miami, FL; sister-in-law, Robin Haynes; two brothers-in-law; Gary and Timothy Haynes; eight grandsons, Lavares, David, Na’Twan, Da’von, Da’shawn, John, Jahiem, and Harlem; four step-grandsons, Melehk, Amaurion, Cameron, and Deqohn; four granddaughters, Buquetta, Tabitha (Lavar), Ebone’, and Camiyah; his niece who he kept dear to his heart, Felicia Brown; two special friends, Charles Dingle, and Jerome Harrison; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
