Desmond Darryl White

Mr. Desmond Darryl White was born on April 9, 1985, to Kevin White and Elaine White. He answered God’s call on Sunday August 21,2022 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Desmond was educated through the public schools in Far Rockway, Queens, New York until he moved “down south” to Irmo, South Carolina. Desmond was the graduate of the class of 2004 of Irmo High School. At an early age, Desmond accepted Christ and joined True Gospel Ministries in Columbia, South Carolina where he served as a faithful drummer and active youth department member.

On June 24, 2017, he was united in holy matrimony to Rasia Dior. From this union they were blessed with one child.

“Dez” as he was affectionately known was a very loveable person with an infectious laugh. He never met a stranger. “Dez” loved, loved, loved his children, music, and had an eye for fashion. He was such a talented musician and an awesome barber. “Dez” shared his musical talents with several churches in the surrounding areas.

Desmond was proceeded in death by: his maternal grandparents, Mr. George and Mrs. Dora Davis; paternal grandparents, Mr. Nathaniel Ray and Deloris Ray; and two uncles, Calvin Davis and George Davis.

Although Desmond’s physical presence will be no more, he leaves a light of love that will shine brightly in the hearts of those that knew and love him. Survived to cherish his memory are: his , Elaine , of Columbia, SC; his father, Kevin White, of Brooklyn, New York; his wife, Rasia Dior White ,of the home; a loving and beautiful daughter, Journee Giselle, of Blackville, South Carolina; an energetic and handsome son, Ezra Nasir, of the home; one brother, Calvin White; five uncles, Danny Davis, Leon Davis, and Darran Davis, all of Columbia, South Carolina, Allen “Tuffy” Ray of Atlanta, Georgia, and Gregory “Chubby” of Virginia; one aunt, Sharon Ray, of Middletown, New York; mother-in-law, Andrea Davis, of Florence, South Carolina; father-in-law, Cal Steadman, of Norway, South Carolina; two brothers-in-law, Brandon Davis, of Florence, South Carolina, and Luke (Maurée) Brunson, Jr., of Marion, South Carolina; five sisters-in-law, Delora (George) Vereen, of Marion, South Carolina, Crystal Davis, of Florence, South Carolina, Amber (Marius) Eaddy, of Elgin, South Carolina, Ashley (Steven) Davis, of Richmond, Virginia, and Chelsey Richardson, of Phoenix, Arizona; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and great friends. Desmond will be greatly missed by his Spiritual Father, Overseer Tracy Howard, Jr., his True Gospel Family and his Word of Truth Family all of whom he loved and served faithfully for over 27 years.
